The medications we use to treat substance abuse disorders – like addiction to opioids, including fentanyl and prescription pills – have been approved by the FDA to help you. These medications stop opioids from affecting your brain and/or ease cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Using medicine for recovery is similar to following prescriptions for another chronic disease, like allergies or diabetes.
