Brain Mapping

Identify and Defeat the Patterns of Addiction in Marietta

Brain-mapping is one of our holistic program components at Atlanta Treatment LLC. Brain-mapping uses neurofeedback, a.k.a. EEG biofeedback, in a state-of-the-art, noninvasive way to visualize the thoughts and behaviors associated with addiction. By focusing in on visual patterns, our team can help you shift your negative thinking and create healthier thoughts and brain waves.

What Is Brain Mapping?

Brain-mapping is a simple, science-based method for teaching the brain how to function more efficiently. Our brains create 4 divisions of electrical impulses called “frequency bands”:

  1. Delta
  2. Theta
  3. Alpha
  4. Beta

These frequency bands show which areas of our brains are active, so we can highlight which part of the brain we should be using when we are indulging in bad behavior. Brain-mapping identifies which bands our brains are using for addiction-related thinking, so we can stop the patterns of addiction in their tracks.

How Does Brain Mapping Work?

At Atlanta Treatment LLC, in Marietta, GA, brain-mapping sessions can show you the physical impact the disease of addiction has had on your brain. From there, our experienced staff can help you retrain it.

During a brain-mapping session, we place electrodes on your scalp. We then attach the electrodes to a monitor that will translate your brainwave information into images. We will also show you how to engage and control your different frequency bands. This will allow us to work together, gather useful information, optimize your addiction recovery, and support your mental health.

Benefits of Brain Mapping

Brain mapping data helps identify specific behavior patters. This allows for better treatment plans which can help speed up results. While brain mapping isn't for everyone it can be an incredably valuable tool.
